
Here are some fruits to avoid combining together, as advised by dietician Dr Swathi Reddy.
1. Melon with other fruits
Melons have a high water content and are digested quickly. Therefore, they may not be digested properly when combined with other fruits.
2. Starchy fruits vs. protein-rich fruits
Avoid combining starchy fruits like bananas with protein-rich fruits like guava, kiwi, avocado, and raspberries. The combination of these two fruits can be harmful because they need an acidic environment to digest protein and an alkaline environment to break down starch.
3. Acidic fruits vs sweet fruits
Avoid combining acidic fruits like grapefruit, strawberries, apples with sweet fruits like bananas, raisins. This combination will cause digestive problems, nausea and headaches.
4. Papaya and lemon
Avoid combining papaya with lemon as they can cause anemia or hemoglobin imbalance in the body.
