Experts from Singapore and Vietnam shared valuable clinical experience in handling complex pregnancy cases. The issues discussed include: Maternity high blood pressure, uterine fibroids, congenital heart abnormalities in the fetus, preeclampsia and difficulties in cesarean section.
In particular, Dr. Sharon Foo Anqi from Thomson Singapore presented a method to handle a rare but dangerous situation: The fetal head is stuck in the second stage of labor.
MSc. Dr. Vo Trieu Dat - Head of FV-Thomson Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, emphasized the importance of updating knowledge from the Thomson health system to improve the capacity to care for high-risk pregnancy.
He also introduced the "water labor transfer" method, an advanced technique that FV Hospital is applying in Vietnam. This method helps relieve pain, relax and shorten labor time for pregnant women, especially suitable for those who do not want to use painkillers.
The workshop is considered a good opportunity for Vietnamese obstetricians to access updated knowledge from international experts. The goal is to improve the quality of health care for mothers and babies, especially in cases where pregnancy has risk factors.
