On April 3, according to information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Quang Binh province, the measles vaccination campaign in the whole province with nearly 16,300 children vaccinated, reaching a rate of 90% of the plan.
The campaign will be implemented from March 26 to 31, 2025 in 148 communes, wards and towns in 8 districts, towns and cities with a total of 349 vaccination points. Of the total number of vaccinated children, there are 1,838 children aged 6 to 9 months (reaching 79.2%), 8,190 children aged 1 to 5 (reaching 90.9%) and 6,248 children aged 6 to 10 (reaching 92.4%).
The general assessment shows that the vaccination campaign is being implemented safely and effectively. Some localities achieved high rates such as Quang Trach district (94.9%) and Ba Don town (94.1%). However, some mountainous districts such as Minh Hoa and Tuyen Hoa have low vaccination rates, reaching 86.7% and 85.2%, respectively.
The provincial CDC said that despite the positive results, the implementation process still faces many difficulties. Due to the urgent time, the investigation of the object and the vaccine is limited. Detailed instructions from the upper to the lower route are slow, affecting the organization at the facility. In addition, the management of the subject is not synchronized, the interdisciplinary coordination is not tight, and a part of the people is still subjective in preventing the disease for children.
To improve campaign effectiveness and ensure the vaccination coverage rate, the provincial CDC has directed localities to continue organizing vaccination until April 4, 2025, especially in places with low vaccination rates. The spraying is to enhance community immunity, proactively prevent epidemics and reduce the risk of measles spreading throughout the province.
