On November 21, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration coordinated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organize the 4th Red Spring Festival.
At the ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Minh - General Director of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center - said: "In recent years, in addition to the task of search and rescue at sea, we have participated in relief and support for people affected by natural disasters and floods. Most recently, in Nha Trang, we have participated in supporting relief efforts for people and supporting equipment and materials for rescue work.
This is a task outside of our regular professional expertise, volunteering for the community is a noble gesture. The same goes for voluntary blood donation. Many of our members continuously participate in blood donation. We hope to spread the spirit of community service, contribute a small part to community health care, and support those in need".

For union members of the Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration, blood donation is not only a noble gesture, but also a demonstration of responsibility, a spirit of sharing, and a spirit for the community "each drop of blood given, a life remains".
With the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center - the unit presiding over and coordinating search and rescue activities for people and vehicles in distress and incidents in Vietnam's waters. Every day, the Center is always on duty 24/7 to receive information, handle emergency situations and coordinate rescue forces. Among them, many people have donated blood many times to save lives.
"The first time I donated blood was in 2020, at that time I was both scared and nervous when I saw a very large blood draw needle. But when I got to know each other and was explained by the brothers and sisters, I felt more calm. I have donated blood 4 times. Just thinking about donating my blood to save others, I am no longer afraid of pain" - Nguyen Quynh Anh, Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center shared.
At the Red Spring Festival, the organizing committee honored and rewarded union members who donated blood many times, including those who donated blood more than 7 times - they are people who not only demonstrate a spirit of compassion and noble social responsibility but also strongly inspire the youth union members in the whole unit.
