HCMC - Nearing Lunar New Year 2025, the demand for beauty services is increasing. People should choose reputable facilities and hospitals to avoid risks and "losing money and getting sick".

There are only about 3 weeks left until Lunar New Year 2025, at this time, people's demand for beauty increases. It is noted that at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, the beauty waiting lines are full of people, including overseas Vietnamese returning home for beauty treatments.

According to Dr. Ly Thien Phuc - Dermatology - Skin Aesthetics specialist at Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, in December 2024, the unit received nearly 250 overseas Vietnamese coming for beauty treatments, an increase of about 30% compared to the same period last year.

Many customers share that they choose to do beauty treatments in Vietnam because the cost is much cheaper than in other countries, scheduling is quick and convenient, and the service is not inferior to that of developed countries.

In the case of Mr. D.T (26 years old, Vietnamese Canadian) who decided to get botox injections in Vietnam to treat masticatory muscle hypertrophy due to the habit of chewing on one side, causing facial asymmetry. Mr. T said that in Canada, the cost of botox injections ranges from 50-90 million VND depending on the facility, while in Vietnam it is only from 10-16 million VND.

Doctor Phuc recommends that people and overseas Vietnamese should choose reputable facilities licensed by the Ministry of Health to ensure safety and avoid complications. Cosmetic techniques should be performed by doctors with practice certificates at reputable hospitals or cosmetic centers.

Seizing the beauty needs of people during Tet, many beauty establishments take advantage of advertising quick beauty methods. As a result, many cases have suffered serious cosmetic complications.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health inspected and discovered a chain of facilities in Tan Binh and District 10 providing weight loss services that had received many complaints and continuously changed their operating addresses after being fined. According to records, some customers had to spend hundreds of millions of VND on weight loss services.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health recommends that people choose reputable specialized clinics with operating licenses issued by the Department of Health. People can look up information about medical examination and treatment facilities, practitioners, and public information on administrative sanctions on the Department of Health's website.
