Before coming to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, the patient had undergone treatment at many different medical facilities due to symptoms of abdominal pain, fever and problems related to the urinary system, and was initially diagnosed with renal and urethral phenols.
After not responding to treatment measures, the patient continues to recur with serious symptoms, such as urinary retention and continuous high fever. Ultrasound and CT results showed large injuries in the abdomen, and doctors decided to perform emergency surgery. During the surgery, the doctors discovered two large tumors in the left and after the uterus, invading the wall of the bladder. Both tumors and the uterus have been removed.
After sending samples for pathological testing, the results determined that the patient had cell Sarcoma (Histiocytic Sarcoma - HS), an extremely rare disease with an incidence rate of only 0.17 cases per 1 million people. Tissue Sarcoma can be associated with malicious diseases in the blood and can progress to maliciousness, so timely detection and treatment will bring a positive prognosis for patients.
Doctor Vu Xuan Ngoc, Head of the Department of pathology (Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases) said: Sarcoma is a rare histiocytis disorder, with diverse symptoms and difficult to distinguish from other diseases. The diagnosis needs to be meticulous and detailed to distinguish it from other tumor damage and inflammation. Although it is a rare disease, if detected promptly and treated actively, patients can have a good prognosis."
