On April 10, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy - Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council chaired a meeting to consider and give opinions on some contents under his authority.
At the meeting, based on the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee and the appraisal report of the Economic - Budget Committee, Legal Committee, Culture - Society Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council discussed and basically agreed with the content of the 7 submissions of the Provincial People's Committee.
In which, noteworthy is the proposal to issue a Resolution to support funding for pre-marital counseling and health check-ups in the province; Resolution to support contraceptives and family planning costs in the province.
These resolutions are built according to the provisions of the 2025 Population Law, aiming to focus on supporting people with health check-ups and genetic disease screening before marriage; reducing the rate of unwanted pregnancies. This is a new policy, effective from July 1, 2026, delegating authority to localities to decide on the level of support.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct specialized agencies to urgently develop draft resolutions and submit them to the Standing Committee of the People's Council and committees of the Provincial People's Council. The draft resolution content must ensure quality, be practical and highly feasible, and be suitable for the local budget capacity.
