Wearing red shirts, volunteers in the Can Tho City Voluntary Blood Donation Club traveled all over the roads, alleys, crossed fields, and crossed rivers to go to rural areas to propagate and mobilize people to donate blood. Thanks to easy-to-understand, sincere communication combined with diverse forms, the Club has contributed to spreading a positive message to everyone, thereby promptly helping many patients maintain their lives in the West.

Mr. Duong Quoc Bao (26 years old, Chairman of the Can Tho City Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign Club) said that the club was established on June 14, 2016, and has now gone through 2 generations of management. The Club is currently under the Office of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Campaigns of Can Tho City with 50 core members and hundreds of volunteers.
The main task of the Club is to participate, organize propaganda and mobilize in many forms to expand the number of donors; raise public awareness of the noble meaning of voluntary blood donation, as well as basic knowledge about blood donation and blood transfusion safety.
Each year, the Club organizes more than 20 blood donation programs, of which, there are 3 major programs that the Club participates in supporting: "Spring Red", "Spring Red Blood Drops", "Red Journey".
It is commendable that on average, the club mobilizes more than 1,000 units of blood each year. If in emergency conditions blood is needed, club members can promptly mobilize and donate over 300 units of blood.

Each blood donation program organized by the locality or unit will have at least 30 members participating, for large programs alone, more than 100 members will be mobilized to participate in blood donation and mobilize blood donation propaganda, support blood collection at blood donation festivals, serve and care for blood donors, said Mr. Bao.
The club also specializes in caring for blood donors so that they can participate in long-term blood donation. To do this, the Club is divided into 5 departments, including: the security department will support the issue of vehicles for blood donors; the reception department will support giving gifts and registration; the health department will support blood donors by talking, taking care of their physical strength; the logistics department; the media department.
"We specialize in caring for blood donors so that when they participate in donating once, they will continue to donate blood, multipliing many noble gestures", Mr. Bao expressed.
The head of the Can Tho City Voluntary Blood Donation Club added that at this club, some people have donated blood up to 20 times, but some people have only donated blood for the first time. However, for them, everyone wants to share the drops of pink blood with patients who need blood, or at least to convey the message of love.
In addition to mobilizing blood donation, every year, members of the Club also carry out many meaningful programs for children with serious illnesses and students in difficult circumstances.
