Ho Chi Minh City strengthens seasonal flu prevention for the elderly

    The Hope Fund accompanies the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, implementing the program "Supporting flu vaccination for elderly people in difficult circumstances".

    The program is implemented with the sponsorship of Sanofi-Aventis Vietnam, deployed at 6 ward and commune health stations with many people in difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City, including An Phu Dong, Can Gio, Phu Hoa Dong, Dau Tieng, Bau Bang and Bau Lam from now until before the Lunar New Year 2026.

    The program not only provides free flu vaccination for about 1,140 people but also implements many communication activities to raise awareness of health care for the elderly.

    The program deploys flu vaccination for elderly people from poor and near-poor households, in difficult circumstances, prioritizing people with underlying diseases who have been treated stably and have not been vaccinated in the past year.

    The project "Supporting flu vaccination for the elderly" launched in the first ward of An Phu Dong has recorded the participation of hundreds of eligible people from neighborhoods of the ward.

    Mr. Burak Pekmezci - General Director of Sanofi company expressed: "Through this program, Sanofi emphasizes its commitment to sharing resources and expertise, accompanying and further improving the quality of healthcare for the community, contributing to improving medical standards for the elderly in Vietnam".
