The 2nd Hai Phong Open Half Marathon Thuy Nguyen Cup 2024 is a meaningful event organized annually by the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen District. This year's race is one of the activities to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the traditional day of Thuy Nguyen uprising (October 25, 1948 - October 25, 2024).
Through the race, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to promoting the image of Thuy Nguyen land and people, especially when Thuy Nguyen district is about to become a city under Hai Phong city. The race also aims at profound human values, connecting and spreading the spirit of love and sharing to localities that suffered heavy damage after storm No. 3.
The race is scheduled to start at 5am on October 13 at the European Square, Vinhomes Royal Island - Vu Yen Island with the participation of more than 1,000 athletes who are running enthusiasts aged 16 and over. The athletes registered to compete in 3 distances: 3km, 10km and 21km.
According to the representative of the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district, it is expected that right at the program, the Organizing Committee will give at least 100 million VND to support people affected by storm No. 3 to the account of the Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
