On June 7, the Steering Committee 389 of Nghe An province announced that it had just organized a preliminary review of the work in the first 5 months of 2025 and deployed tasks for the coming time.
According to the report, from December 15, 2024 to May 15, 2025, the authorities in Nghe An province handled 1,426 administrative violations, prosecuted 164 cases with 228 subjects, with a total fine of up to 174.298 billion VND. In the second half of May alone, the units handled 202 more cases, collecting fines of VND 3.235 billion.

In border areas and coastal areas, the Customs, Border Guard and Police forces have coordinated to strictly control goods and passengers entering and leaving the country, effectively preventing acts of taking advantage of loopholes in procedures to smuggle firecrackers and prohibited goods. Customs handled 21 violations (fined 160 million VND); Border Guard prosecuted 4 cases with 4 subjects.
In the province, the Provincial Police organized peak periods of criminal attacks, prosecuted 160 cases with 224 subjects, handled 601 administrative violations with fines of more than 9.2 billion VND. Market management handled 333 cases, fined over 1.5 billion VND; Tax Department of Region X handled 423 cases, collecting over 162 billion VND.
Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 - said that he has directed units to continue to improve the Steering Committee 389 at all levels, clearly identify routes, areas, subjects and key items to focus on inspection and handling forces.
At the same time, special attention should be paid to the complicated developments in the online environment with the use of virtual addresses, scattered warehouses, and non-cash transactions; to maintain market stability, protect the rights of consumers and genuine businesses in the province.
The Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 also emphasized the need to step up propaganda with a focus, not only to raise people's awareness of counterfeit goods and dirty food, but also to tighten supervision of activities on e-commerce - where many sophisticated tricks are taking place.
