Fake goods conceal legal documents
From the beginning of 2025 to now, customs forces at border gates in Lang Son province have continuously discovered many cases of businesses intentionally committing fraud in customs declaration, bringing counterfeit goods, violating intellectual property into the country.
On May 19, through on-site inspection, the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs force discovered two shipments of STREAMAX Electronics Co., Ltd. and VINA YNT Co., Ltd. (Bac Ninh) containing 582 phones, 48 tablets and many electronic components with famous brands such as iPhone, Vivo, Oppo, IQOO Z9... The total value of the violating shipment was up to more than 2 billion VND.
Then, on May 21, the authorities discovered that Luc Thang Water Treatment Technology Co., Ltd. imported 50 ball bearings suspected to be counterfeit SKF - a global brand in the mechanical industry.
These are 2 out of 26 cases of businesses in customs declaration fraud when importing and exporting goods through border gates in Lang Son province.

According to statistics from the Customs Branch of Region VI, in just the first 5 months of 2025, the whole unit handled 768 violations in import-export activities, of which more than 400 cases were related to false declaration and customs file fraud, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024.
sophisticated tricks, saying one thing at a time, saying the other
Ms. Ha Thi Kim Dung - Captain of Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs - said that many businesses have taken advantage of the open-ended policy in electronic declaration to declare incorrect types, quantities, and origins to evade taxes and legalize the bringing of prohibited goods into the country.
Some common tricks are declaring goods that are allowed to be imported but in reality are goods that do not meet the requirements, even goods that violate intellectual property, goods counterfeiting trademarks.
According to the assessment of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, this situation is appearing increasingly sophisticated, showing signs of organizational problems, seriously affecting a healthy business environment and consumer rights.
Faced with the above situation, the Customs Department of Region VI has initiated a criminal case against 2 enterprises and transferred the case file to Lang Son Provincial Police for investigation.
In addition, a series of other enterprises were subject to "red-flow" inspection measures (inspecting 100% of goods) and included in the national monitoring list.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, in the first 5 months of the year, the whole province of Lang Son inspected and handled 1,953 cases of smuggling, trade frauds and fake goods in the first 5 months of 2025. In particular, the province has prosecuted 111 cases with 229 subjects, including 01 case of manufacturing and assembling fake phones inland.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Thanh Son affirmed: "The province has comprehensively directed all levels and sectors to tighten management at border gates and border areas, while strengthening domestic inspections, especially for high-risk goods such as drugs, functional foods, electronics, and technology goods".
At the same time, customs forces and related units are also being directed to implement comprehensive measures, including electronic monitoring right from the stage of reporting, collecting information about businesses with violations, and coordinating with sectors to promptly handle complex fraudulent acts.
