On the afternoon of November 28, within the framework of the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025, the People's Committee of Da Nang City organized a Conference on Promoting Investment in the Free Trade Zone and Logistics Infrastructure in Da Nang.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Le Quang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that June 13, 2025 marked a special moment in the city's development journey, which was the Prime Minister's approval of Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg to officially establish Da Nang Trading Zone.
This is not only a legal document but also a strong affirmation that Da Nang is given the trust to pioneer in paving the way for a new development model - a model of innovation, breakthrough thinking and aspiration to reach international standards.
According to Mr. Nam, Da Nang Free Trade Zone with functional areas: production - logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, innovation and other types of functional areas associated with seaports, airports, international border gates, International Financial Centers and economic zones, industrial parks.
In particular, the production - logistics functional area will play an important role, contributing to making Da Nang an international production and transit center, closely linked with Lien Chieu Port, Tien Sa, Ky Ha Da Nang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport and the East - West Economic Corridor.
Mr. Nam said that after merging Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, Da Nang City will become the leading major urban area in the country in terms of scale and strategic role; opening up new development opportunities to become the leading commercial - logistics center of Vietnam and the region.
With its ge strategic location, Da Nang owns a synchronous and diverse transport infrastructure system, which is an advantage for Da Nang to break through, becoming an important link in the supply chain of the Asia-Pacific region.
In particular, Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport are like two doors opening to the world; Lien Chieu - Tien Sa - Chu Lai Port is like three spearheads facing the ocean, connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean; The expressway network, railway and LRT and MRT projects create the backbone traffic axis of the entire region.
With the orientation of developing Da Nang logistics services in a modern, synchronous and sustainable direction; gradually turning Da Nang into a national logistics center, with an international role; a key focus for developing the marine economy.
"Da Nang will also be an important transportation hub of the country, the main gate to the sea of localities in the Central Key Economic Zone and the East-West Economic Corridor; an important link of the Asia-Pacific transport corridor.
Thereby diversifying types of services in the logistics chain to increase the value and volume of goods and logistics services through major transportation hubs in the city (shipping port, airports), promoting the development of logistics services for e-commerce and green logistics services", Mr. Nam emphasized.
