Ca Mau - Ca Mau crabs are facing export opportunities with a large quantity bringing a stable source of income to farmers.

On October 11, at Muong Thanh Ca Mau Hotel, Thanh Nien Bridge Trading Joint Stock Company (Thanh Nien Global) held a signing ceremony for cooperation in providing aquatic materials with cooperatives in Ca Mau province.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, the Department of Fisheries, the Agricultural Extension Center, the Provincial Cooperative Union, and more than 15 aquaculture cooperatives, mainly cooperatives specializing in Ca Mau crab farming.

Ca Mau is a locality with special potential and advantages in aquaculture, especially crabs - a typical product of the extreme southern part of the country. In recent years, the province has focused on effectively exploiting this potential, aiming to reach 31,300 tons of crab output by 2025, with a combined farming area of over 418,000 hectares.

According to experts, engineers and farmers, to enhance the value of products, Ca Mau needs to promote the standardization of farming areas, ensure traceability, apply disease prevention techniques, and develop export processing chains. That is the direction from many crab trees to valuable crab trees.

Currently, Ca Mau province is promoting the advantage of a farming area combining shrimp - crab, expanding safe raw material areas, gradually forming a stable consumption chain.

Ca Mau has developed 62 hectares of standard crab farming models with traceability, applying biological products (probiotics) in the rotation model to reduce disease risks and improve productivity and quality.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thanh Nien Global Trading Joint Stock Company - emphasized: "Signing cooperation with cooperatives is a strategic step, to meet the increasing demand for output and quality of live crab products in Thanh Nien Global's export markets."

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang An - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cua Cai Bat Cooperative: "Ca Mau does not lack quality crabs, crabs are fully granted a strip code. The important thing is to have a stable output to help crabs return to their original position - a product with high economic value, contributing to increasing people's income".

Mr. Tien Y Nguyen - Director of Cua Muoi Ca Mau Cooperative - expressed: "The cooperatives are ready to commit to a stable supply. We hope that Thanh Nien Global will support more in communication and product commercialization, helping to bring crab from square and lagoon to domestic and foreign markets, thereby enhancing the Cua Ca Mau brand".

Currently, Thanh Nien Global accounts for about 30% of Ca Mau's total export output of raw crab. The enterprise aims to increase this rate to 50% by 2026, contributing to creating a closed value chain, promoting sustainable development of the local seafood economy.

It is known that Ca Mau will organize the second crab festival in November 2025.
