As a child born and raised in Quynh Phu sedge growing village (Thai Binh) - a place with a traditional profession for more than 400 years, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan always wondered how to bring the products of the craft villagers to consumers.
He shared: The craft village has beautiful products that are cared for by artisans but cannot be sold directly to consumers. Traders force the price to be very low, then resell it at 3 times the price, causing both the creator and the customer to suffer".

Worried about the traditional profession fading away, Mr. Tuan decided to innovate his business approach by bringing sedge on the e-commerce platform. In 2023, he created the TikTok channel "Happy Arms and Comfits", bringing craft village products to social networks. Thanks to direct connections with buyers, he sold up to 30,000 shows - a figure of remarkable growth compared to before.
Not only stopping at retail, Mr. Tuan also supports the consumption of products for households making household advertisements in the village. This helps increase income and contributes to preserving traditional crafts.
At the same time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Thao ( Thao Mola, Da Lat) - owner of the TikTok channel "S foreign dishes in the garden" - was also known for bringing fruit chili to TikTok Shop. In a single livestream session, she sold 3 tons of goods - a significant success for agricultural products on digital platforms.

From fruit chili, the "S foreign dishes of the home garden" canal has developed into a place to distribute many clean agricultural products of Da Lat. Thanks to livestream sessions and online booths, hundreds of tons of agricultural products have reached consumers across the country. The keyword "Da Lat agricultural products" is gradually becoming a highlight.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that the Go Online program is being implemented to support digital business skills training for young people, students, small businesses and small traders. The program has recently been held in Thai Nguyen and is expected to expand to many localities such as Dien Bien and Lai Chau.
We hope Go Online will help local young people know how to livestream sales and promote regional products on digital platforms. This is an opportunity to form a young start-up force knowledgeable about e-commerce, promoting local economic development, said Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan.
In addition, TikTok Vietnam cooperates with authorities to organize the "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" initiative - supporting local businesses, small traders and young workers to improve digital capacity professionally. The program aims to help Vietnamese goods reach out strongly and sustainably. The sessions "Proud of Vietnamese Goods", "OCOP Market", "GreenUP", "Sweet fruit of the four seasons" in Hanoi attracted 77,000 orders and more than 1.2 million visits in just 48 hours.
