Young people choose a "safe" path
For many young people, the question is: "What will you do if you have the first 100 million?" There are often general answer samples. Buying gold, learning a new foreign language, depositing in banks, ... are the main ways to use assets of many Gen Z young people.
Thanks to teaching English at the center and online tutoring, Nguyen Hoang Nam (24 years old, Hanoi) has saved the first 100 million VND.
Sharing about the allocation of the first savings in his life, Nam said: "On the first day I had 100 million, I divided it to buy gold, deposit savings, and invest in stocks. As a young person without much knowledge, I follow people to invest. After a period of researching the nature of accumulated investment channels, I have completely withdrawn from the stock channel, only accumulating gold and a sum of cash to rotate investment capital to develop myself and my work".
Nam believes that investing in himself and his career, although not making a quick profit, is sustainable.
Meanwhile, Hoang Minh Anh (23 years old, Hanoi) said about the first 100 million VND: "I will deposit 60 million VND in bank savings to make a 6-month reserve fund, the remaining 40 million VND will go to buy 1 tael of gold and 1 English course or any necessary language or skills".
If there is still room, Minh Anh plans to try investing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Possessing the first large amount of money in hand, Nguyen Nhu Quynh (22 years old, Thanh Hoa) chose to invest in gold to accumulate.
At the end of November 2024, after receiving a scholarship and saving, Quynh asked her mother to buy 2 taels of gold rings when the price of gold was about 8.1 million VND/tael.
In March 2025, when the gold price increased to 9.5 million VND/tael, Quynh continued to buy 2 more taels of gold.
In July 2025, you bought 1 more tael for 10.8 million VND/tael, and in November 2025, when the gold price increased to nearly 13.9 million VND/tael, Quynh continued to invest in 2 more taels of gold.
Nhu Quynh frankly shared: "The gold price is almost at 15 million VND/tael, I just hope to have more money to buy".
Allocated into many "investments"
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - CEO of the Faculty of Finance - Banking, Nguyen Trai University advised on smart investment methods for young people.

Mr. Huy said: "When owning the first 100 million VND, young people should set aside at least 10% to study additional skills courses on financial investment, leadership thinking or using AI in their studies and work".
The next 30% of young people should use it to deposit savings for a term, 15% to invest in stocks or exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in areas such as banking, technology, infrastructure, ... Next, 25% should be used to invest in gold, 15% to invest in silver.
And the remaining 5% of young people should focus on community charity work. This helps each person to connect, express love and expand relationships, and get to know more good people.
