People welcome E10 gasoline
Quang Ngai province currently has about 365 gasoline and oil retail stores. With the advantage of having Dung Quat Refinery producing mineral gasoline and Dung Quat Bio-Ethanol Plant producing fuel ethanol, Quang Ngai has affirmed its pioneering role in the roadmap for transition and sustainable use of biofuels.
Implementing the roadmap for switching to biofuels, from the end of April 2026, gasoline and oil businesses in the province simultaneously put E10 gasoline into the distribution system. After about a month of implementation, business activities are stable, supply is maintained continuously, and no unusual fluctuations are recorded.
Fortunately, after a period of learning and using, from the initial cautious psychology, people are more reassured and confident about the new fuel.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen - Director of Mega Eco Co., Ltd. - said that although living in Ho Chi Minh City, he is investing in a factory producing products from areca nuts in Quang Ngai. Due to frequent travel between the two localities to operate production activities, he has driven cars hundreds of kilometers many times and uses E10 gasoline for long trips.
According to Mr. Tuyen, actual use shows that the vehicle still operates stably, the engine operates normally. "Flashing E10 gasoline, the car still operates stably, there is no difference compared to before. Moreover, if the use of this type of fuel contributes to reducing emissions and protecting the environment, I completely support the policy of switching to using E10 gasoline," Mr. Tuyen shared.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung - currently the Store Manager of Petrolimex Quang Ngai's Store No. 1 - said that from April 2026, the store has proactively prepared conditions on infrastructure, facilities, fuel sources and human resources to deploy E10 gasoline sales.
Up to now, E10 gasoline business activities are stable. On average, each day, the store supplies about 17 thousand liters of E10 gasoline to the market," Mr. Dung said.
E10 gasoline market operates stably
E10 gasoline is a fuel blended between 90% mineral gasoline and 10% fuel ethanol. Besides the advantage of cost (currently priced at over 23.6 thousand VND/liter), E10 gasoline also contributes to reducing emissions, being more environmentally friendly and proactive in domestic blending materials. These are important factors to expand the market share of biofuels in the coming time.
From June 1, 2025, E10 gasoline will be officially distributed nationwide, replacing RON95 - III mineral gasoline, while E5 RON92 gasoline will continue to be maintained until the end of 2030. This shows that the development of biofuels is carried out according to an appropriate roadmap, not aimed at restricting people's choices, but towards the goal of ensuring energy security, reducing emissions, protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Man - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - assessed that after about a month of implementation, the E 10 gasoline market operates stably, and supply is guaranteed. Business operations of enterprises are going on normally and no unusual feedback from consumers in the province has been recorded.
In the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to closely monitor supply and demand developments to promptly advise on response solutions when the market fluctuates.
Quang Ngai is one of the leading localities in the country in deploying E10 biofuel. The initial positive results show that the policy of using biofuels is receiving consensus from businesses and people.
