The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade requests to strengthen price stabilization, proactively source goods and control prices, ensuring the Binh Ngo Tet market in 2026.

In order to ensure supply-demand balance and stabilize the market for essential goods serving the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested departments, branches, localities, businesses and distribution systems in the city to synchronously implement many solutions, to prevent shortages, interruptions of supply or unreasonable price increases during the peak period at the end of the year.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones are required to closely monitor market developments, consumer demand and price fluctuations, especially for groups of goods with large purchasing power during Tet. Based on the actual area, localities proactively coordinate to organize mobile sales, supplement distribution points, prioritize areas with a large concentration of workers and laborers; at the same time, promote supply-demand connection, promote consumption of goods produced locally, safe food, regional specialties associated with the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

Along with that, the inspection and supervision of compliance with regulations on price listing and selling at the right price has been strengthened, especially at people's markets and points of sale participating in the market stabilization program. Localities coordinate with the Market Management force to promptly rectify and handle violations; promote accurate information dissemination about the market situation, prices, stabilization programs, promotions and safe sales points, "Responsibility Green Tickets", contributing to stabilizing people's shopping psychology.

For Thu Duc, Binh Dien and Hoc Mon wholesale markets, the Market Management Board is assigned to closely monitor the import and export situation, price fluctuations; promptly report when there are signs of local shortages or abnormal fluctuations.

Markets strengthen inspection of business activities, requiring traders to strictly list prices, sell at the right prices, ensure goods have clear origins, food safety; coordinate with functional forces to strictly handle acts of speculation, hoarding goods, trading in counterfeit and poor quality goods. Security and order, fire prevention and environmental sanitation are also put first.

Businesses participating in the market stabilization program are required to proactively source goods, ensure full and timely supply, even exceeding the registered output in all situations. Businesses increase production, reserve essential goods; maintain stable selling prices according to the registered level from January 19 to March 19, 2026; at the same time, promote promotions, deep discounts and organize mobile sales in industrial parks, export processing zones, and residential areas with many workers.

Supermarket systems, shopping centers, and convenience stores are also required to prepare abundant and diverse sources of goods; increase service hours during Tet peak hours, encourage early opening from the 2nd day of Tet; strictly control the quality of goods and strictly implement regulations on safety and fire prevention and fighting, contributing to ensuring a stable and smooth Tet market.
