Inspired by the famous film "In the Mood for Love" by talented director Wong Kar-wai, designer Ha Linh Thu introduces a collection of 30 looks that depict a beautiful, sad and poignant love story through fashion about intimate emotions and nostalgic charm.
The love story is told by designer Ha Linh Thu through the contrast between suits with the spirit of menswear and elegant, graceful dresses - representing men and women in the love song.
On the background of electronic music, house, techno, somewhere hidden is the pounding drums of the classic French song Siboney, the classical melody of Shigeru Umebayashi describing the heartbeat of lovers in In the Mood for Love..., Ha Linh Thu takes viewers to the enchanting world of Hong Kong (China) in the 1960s, where neon lights flicker in narrow alleys, bustling night markets.
There, every mood of love is subtly expressed through the constant change of colors. From the bright hot colors of love interwoven with the cold colors of immense loneliness, from the shades of red-brown and emerald green, complemented by the brilliant turquoise that evokes the aura of sunset and the deep whispers of lost moments.
Along with sound, light, models and catwalk..., everything is like a confession sent into nature by those who left behind a secret love when they could not express it in words, they sent it into the stone and the sky.
Opening the collection "In the Mood for Love - In the Mood for Love" presented at Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall Winter 2024, Ha Linh Thu introduced a classic evening gown design.
Next are the dresses stylized from traditional cheongsam, short skirts, ao dai, mixed with suits, bomber pullover designs, strong bomber dresses, jackets... appearing alternately.
All were created by designer Ha Linh Thu using two materials, velvet and silk - which have made the brand famous over the years. On modern applied outfits, the Hanoi designer still highlights the Eastern culture that is imbued in the creative flow.
It is a combination of hot and cold colors on the same design, large and brilliant peach blossoms, or familiar dragon and phoenix motifs of Asian culture - meticulously and delicately hand-embroidered.
Ha Linh Thu's delicate balance between oriental beauty and contemporary style makes each outfit a work of art, not only visually appealing but also showing respect for national heritage.
