On October 5, designer Ngoc Lan introduced the "Old Tai" collection with ao dai designs and silk velvet costumes for the Fall-Winter 2025 season. In addition to the female models, the performance also attracted the attention of the audience when there was the appearance of actor Son Tung.
Born in 2006, Son Tung is a "new breeze" in VTV TV series, attracting attention through his role as Vien in the prime-time film "Cach em 1 milimet".
Designer Ngoc Lan revealed that Son Tung and his mother both love the ao dai or hand-embroidered scarves of the designer for many years. Ngoc Lan herself really likes the fresh role of the 19-year-old actress, so she decided to invite him as a model for the latest collection.
Appearing on the big catwalk as a model performing in Ao Dai for the first time, Son Tung was a bit nervous and worried. He spent time practicing how to walk, interact, and hold his co-star's hand naturally...
"As a young person, I always love traditional culture. Performing in Ao Dai in a special show helps me contribute to spreading the beauty of Ao Dai to the younger generation. I want to focus on the film industry, in addition to developing the image of a versatile artist," Son Tung said.
The collection includes more than 40 designs of ao dai, velvet dresses, blazers and high-end silk outfits, a blend of traditional spirit and modern breath. With her strengths in hand-embroidered and material processing techniques, designer Ngoc Lan transforms each measure of velvet and silk fabric into sophisticated works of art.
The highlight of "Old material" is the modernized blazers from Vietnamese silk, combined with meticulous hand-embroidered motifs, creating an elegant and unique look. On the soft fabric background, flower, bird and phoenix motifs are vividly hand-embroidered, expressing the love of the homeland and national spirit. Fashion is not just clothes, but a way to honor traditional craft values with a modern breath, the designer shared.
