On August 16, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Nghe An 10 Group of Social Policy Bank said that 7 communities (villages, villages) in the area in charge of the unit will benefit in 2025 from the agreed revenue for payment of greenhouse gas emission reduction in the North Central region (ERPA), each community will receive 50 million VND.
"The people are very happy and excited, because this is the result of the community's efforts to protect the forest. The better the forest protection is, the higher the income of the people, and the more they can keep the forest for their homeland and the country sustainable" - the representative emphasized.

Previously, on August 12, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued 2 decisions approving the list of 15 communities in Na Ngoi, Tam Thai and Tam Quang communes that will benefit in 2025 from ERPA revenue.
According to Decision No. 2595/QD-UBND, 7 communes of Na Ngoi including: Buoc Mu village, Buoc Mu 1, Buoc Mu 2, Xieng Xi, Keo Bac, Tang Phan and Tham Hon will benefit from the ERPA revenue of Nghe An 10 Cooperative Corporation.
In Decision No. 2596/QD-UBND, 8 other communities were approved in Tam Thai commune (Ba Tong, Lung, Can, Khoi, Dooc Bua, xoong Con) and Tam Quang commune ( Bai Xa village, Nhuong village) from ERPA revenue of Tuong Duong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to guide relevant units to develop a Financial Plan for 2025; the Forest Protection and Development Fund to coordinate in inspecting, supervising and publicizing the list of beneficiaries at the grassroots level. Relevant departments, branches and units are fully responsible for information, data and policy implementation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
The North Central Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Payment Agreement (ERPA) is a commitment between the Vietnamese Government and the World Bank's carbon Partnership in Forestry Fund. When the emission reduction from forest protection and development is internationally recognized, financial resources will be paid to Vietnam to allocate to the community. This mechanism both brings practical income and creates motivation for forest conservation, contributing to the goal of reducing net emissions by 10:0" by 2050.
