On the afternoon of April 16, the Steering Committee for Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue (PCCC and CNCH) of An Giang province organized a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 47-CT/TW dated June 25, 2015 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over PCCC work; and at the same time summarize PCCC and CNCH work, forest protection in 2025, and deploy tasks for 2026.
After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 47, fire prevention and fighting and rescue work in the province has had many clear changes. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has issued many appropriate guidelines and plans, directing departments, branches, and localities to concretize them into practical action programs. The Provincial People's Committee focuses on enhancing the responsibility of heads, promoting propaganda, thereby creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of officials, party members and people in ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety.

In 2025, fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue, forest protection work continued to be concerned with leadership and drastic direction. Thanks to that, the situation of fires, explosions and forest fires was controlled, deeply reduced with 23 fires and 59 forest fires reduced compared to before.
In the period 2015 - 2025, the whole province recorded 527 fires, killing 29 people, injuring 31 people, property damage estimated at more than 310 billion VND and more than 857 hectares of forest. Compared to the period 2005 - 2015, the number of fires decreased by 497 cases, the number of deaths decreased by 7 people, the number of injured people decreased by 66 people; the area of forest damage decreased by more than 234 hectares, although the value of property damage increased by more than 45 billion VND.
Concluding the conference, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested to continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of fire prevention and fighting and rescue work, protecting forests in the new situation. The focus is on promoting the role and responsibility of the head; strengthening state management; promoting propaganda, building a movement for the whole people to participate in fire prevention and fighting and rescue; and at the same time paying attention to investing in facilities and equipment to meet increasingly high task requirements, contributing to ensuring security and safety, serving the sustainable development of the province.

On this occasion, the Conference Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 29 collectives and 46 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Directive No. 47 and fire prevention and fighting and rescue work, forest protection in 2025. This is a worthy recognition, and also contributes to spreading good models and effective ways of doing things, creating motivation to promote the movement of all people participating in fire prevention and fighting and rescue to become increasingly in-depth, practical and sustainable.
