On the afternoon of December 30, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH), An Giang Provincial Police organized a conference to summarize the work in 2025 and deploy key tasks for 2026.
In 2025, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force of An Giang Provincial Police has synchronously and drastically implemented many solutions, gradually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of fire prevention and fighting and rescue, making an important contribution to ensuring social order and safety, serving the socio-economic development of the locality.
During the year, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force directly participated in rescuing 41 fires, including: 22 individual house fires; 1 warehouse fire; 1 educational facility fire; 6 vehicle fires; 6 forest fires and 5 other fires. The consequences were 1 death, property damage estimated at 17.15 billion VND, and 21.79 hectares of forest damaged.
The investigation of fire causes was carried out seriously, reaching a rate of 85.36%, of which the cause due to electrical incidents accounted for the highest rate (68.57%). Notably, compared to 2024, the fire situation in the province decreased sharply in all 3 criteria: the number of fires decreased by 31 cases (43.1%); the number of deaths decreased by 1 person (50%); property damage decreased by more than 8 billion VND (31.9%); the area of forest burned down decreased by 62.93 ha (74.27%). This result shows the clear effectiveness of prevention, management, inspection and fire prevention and fighting propaganda being deployed synchronously from the province to the grassroots level.
The Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department has advised the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to issue 23 directing documents; advised the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Provincial Police to issue 243 directing and guiding documents related to fire prevention and fighting and rescue work. Thereby, gradually completing the legal corridor, ensuring unity in direction and implementation throughout the province.
Implementing the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue, the unit has advised on organizing in-depth training conferences for 300 delegates who are leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees and police of 102 communes, wards, and special zones. Organizing 3 professional training classes for 457 officials working in inspection, appraisal, and acceptance of fire prevention and fighting and rescue; opening many knowledge and skills training classes for forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.
Propaganda and dissemination of laws and fire prevention and fighting and rescue skills continue to be innovated and diversified in forms. The whole province has organized 25 swimming, diving, and drowning rescue training classes for more than 1,080 students and children; 73 fire prevention and fighting and rescue professional training classes with more than 8,200 participants. The fire fighting and rescue professional competition "Family-linked fire prevention and fighting safety team" in 2025 was widely organized with 101 teams participating, contributing to improving fire and explosion handling capabilities right from the grassroots level.
The movement of all people participating in PCCC and CNCH continues to be consolidated, promoting the effectiveness of the "four on-the-spot" motto. To date, 100% of hamlets and neighborhoods in the province have established civil defense forces; maintaining the effectiveness of 1,357 grassroots PCCC teams, 1,301 PCCC safety inter-family teams, 308 public fire fighting points and 1,828 civil defense teams. During the year, the Fire and Rescue Police force has periodically inspected 2,655 establishments, 128 turns of vehicles transporting dangerous goods for fire and explosion; conducted surprise inspections of 4 establishments, promptly detected, rectified, and handled shortcomings and violations.
Speaking to direct at the Conference, Colonel Diep Van The - Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police - acknowledged and praised the outstanding results of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force in 2025. At the same time, he emphasized that in the coming time, many important political, economic, and cultural events will take place; the risk of fire and explosion is still potentially complex, especially in conditions of hot weather and prolonged drought. Colonel Diep Van The requested the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force to continue to proactively prevent early and remotely; improve the quality of propaganda, inspection, and training; promote the overall strength of the entire political system and the entire people in fire prevention and fighting and rescue work.
With the outstanding achievements, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police was honored to be awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Public Security as the leading unit in the emulation movement "For National Security" in 2025.
