On the afternoon of August 26, the Traffic Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police organized a launching ceremony to implement the peak period of ensuring traffic order and safety and social order and safety on the occasion of National Day September 2nd and "Peak month of traffic safety for students going to school - September", associated with general control of transport business vehicles.
With the motto of proactively preventing and strictly handling violations, ensuring safe and smooth traffic, the Traffic Police force of An Giang Provincial Police will focus on synchronously deploying professional measures, strengthening patrols and controls on routes, areas and time frames at high risk of accidents and traffic jams. Promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents.
The focus of the peak period is the general control of transport business vehicles, especially passenger cars, contract cars, trucks and cargo transport vehicles. Functional forces will focus on inspecting the compliance with regulations on transport business conditions, vehicle operators, speed, driving time, alcohol concentration, drugs, tonnage, vehicle size, journey monitoring equipment and technical safety assurance conditions of vehicles.
Along with that, ensuring traffic safety for students is identified as a key task. Traffic police will coordinate with agencies, units, schools and local authorities to promote propaganda and guide safe traffic participation skills. Strengthen inspection and handling of violations on roads and school gate areas, especially acts that students often violate such as driving vehicles when they are not old enough, not wearing helmets, carrying more people than prescribed, going sideways, speeding, and overtaking recklessly.
In particular, the Traffic Police force will proactively review and evaluate routes, areas, and points at risk of accidents or congestion to develop appropriate traffic diversion and regulation plans. In times when traffic volume increases, officers and soldiers will be arranged reasonably, ensuring smooth traffic, and preventing passivity and surprise.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Van Truong - Head of the Traffic Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police requested officers and soldiers to proactively grasp the situation, deploy forces in the right focus and key points, strictly handle violations but at the same time must promote propaganda and guidance to raise people's awareness of self-discipline in complying with the law. The goal of patrol and control work is not only to handle violations but more importantly to prevent them early and remotely, contributing to the formation of traffic culture and protecting the lives and health of the people.
