After more than a month of implementing Plan No. 214/KH-CAT-PC06 of An Giang Provincial Police on propaganda, mobilization for handover and prevention, and fight against crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives, and supporting tools (VK, VLN, CCHT), the Provincial Police force has achieved many positive results, contributing to ensuring security and order, and effectively preventing crimes right from the grassroots level.
With the drastic and consistent direction of the Ministry of Public Security and the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, the Provincial Police have synchronously implemented many solutions, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system in propaganda and mobilization of people to hand over VK, VLN, CCHT. Police forces at all levels have proactively coordinated with press, radio, television agencies and departments, branches, and mass organizations to promote widespread propaganda to each hamlet, village, neighborhood and each household about legal regulations; and analyze the consequences, harms, safety risks and sanctions for violations related to VK, VLN, CCHT.
The propaganda content is especially aimed at young people to raise awareness and prevent early and remote violations of the law. Through propaganda and mobilization work, the Administrative Police force for social order management throughout the province has recovered 1 gun with features and effects similar to military guns; 1 military bullet; 1 105mm artillery shell and 20 rudimentary weapons of social origin. The above results show a positive change in people's awareness and awareness of law compliance, and at the same time contribute to eliminating potential risks of crime and accidents caused by weapons and explosives.
In parallel with propaganda work, the Police force has strengthened preventive measures, patrols and controls, proactively detecting and handling violations. In the past month, patrol teams have organized 61 sorties with 488 turns of officers and soldiers participating; detected 3 cases of disturbing public order involving 7 subjects, seized 1 Thai knife and 1 three-section baton; and dispersed 32 subjects gathering late at night causing insecurity and disorder, promptly preventing the risk of crime.
The work of fighting against violations of the law on VK, VLN, CCHT is also being drastically implemented. The Provincial Police force has discovered 5 cases with 26 subjects outside the society, including 1 case of illegal possession and 4 cases of illegal use of VK, VLN, CCHT. Seized exhibits include 1 gun with features similar to military guns, 1 air compressed gun, 6 bullets of various types, 3 rudimentary weapons and 5 knives with high lethality. To date, the Police agency has prosecuted 2 cases, 7 subjects; and at the same time continues to investigate and verify 3 cases with 19 subjects for strict handling according to the provisions of law.
The results achieved after more than a month of implementing Plan No. 214 have affirmed the effectiveness of closely combining propaganda and mobilization with preventive measures, patrols and struggle, strictly handling violations. Thereby, contributing to gradually reducing the situation of illegal possession and use of VK, VLN, CCHT; maintaining stable security and order, creating a safe and peaceful environment to serve socio-economic development and improve the quality of life of people in the province.
