On October 17, the survey team led by Colonel Diep Van The, Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police, had a working session with the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone. The team surveyed and evaluated the actual safety assurance work at a number of beaches, public beaches and organizations and individuals with waterway vehicles transporting passengers in the area.
The meeting aimed to comprehensively assess the situation, preparation work on forces, vehicles, equipment and response plans, and be ready to promptly handle incidents and accidents that may occur in beach areas and on waterway vehicles transporting passengers.
At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches, sectors and localities discussed, exchanged, and contributed many practical opinions related to management and safety for tourists at beaches, tourist areas and on waterways.
The opinions focus on strengthening coordination between functional forces; regularly checking and reviewing means of transport; at the same time, promoting propaganda and instructing on safety skills for people and tourists.
Through the survey and discussion, the Working Group suggested that localities, establishments and organizations and individuals operating in the tourism and waterway transport sector continue to closely coordinate with the police force, regularly review and update response plans, proactively grasp the situation and promptly deploy measures to ensure safety for people and tourists.
At the same time, advise and propose to People's Committees at all levels to direct the synchronous implementation of preventive solutions, improve the effectiveness of management, inspection and supervision of activities at beaches and waterway vehicles, contributing to ensuring security, safety and order in the Phu Quoc special zone.
