On October 18, District 1 Police, Ho Chi Minh City announced that they had just arrested two people red-handed for the crime of "Robbery" and proceeded to handle according to regulations two subjects Huynh Quoc Hung (born in 1985) and Truong Ngoc Phong (born in 1983), both residing in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to initial information, at around 12:00 on October 17, Hung drove a motorbike carrying Phong to the area in front of house number 55 Nguyen Cu Trinh Street, District 1. When he saw two foreigners walking to cross the street, Hung approached Phong to snatch the necklace from the neck of Fahrner Sascha, a German national who had just come to Ho Chi Minh City with his friend for a vacation.
After committing the robbery, the two quickly accelerated and fled. At that moment, the Criminal Police of District 1 Police, who were on patrol, discovered the incident and immediately chased after it. With the support of the people, they quickly arrested Hung, Phong and the evidence and brought them to Nguyen Cu Trinh Ward Police Station for legal action.
At the police station, the two subjects initially confessed to their crimes. District 1 Police coordinated with the People's Procuracy at the same level to conduct experimental investigation activities and confront Hung and Phong, the results were consistent with the documents and evidence collected.

Through verification, Hung has 3 previous convictions for theft and robbery. Phong has 2 previous convictions for drug addiction and 1 previous conviction for theft. At the same time, through a quick test, both subjects tested positive for drugs.
That same evening, District 1 Police also promptly returned the property to the victim and received high praise from German tourists.
District 1 Police are continuing to handle the case and the subjects according to the law.
