On May 12, Can Tho City Police informed that Tan An Ward Police had quickly investigated, clarified and arrested the subject who committed the electric bicycle theft that occurred in the area, recovering exhibits and returning them to the victims.
Previously, on April 26, Tan An Ward Police received a report from Ms. Tran Thi Hong Nhung (area 6, Tan An ward) about the theft of an electric bicycle in front of her house, worth about 6.7 million VND.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Ward Police Command directly directed the deployment of working groups, urgently reviewed the area, extracted security camera footage, and cordoned off suspected subjects to serve the investigation work.
Through investigation, the police force determined that the 2 subjects had driven the car through many roads in Tan An ward and then sold it at an electric vehicle store in Cai Rang ward.
After only 2 days of investigation, the police force identified and arrested Nguyen Van Niem (born in 1994), and at the same time recovered exhibits of the case.

At the police station, Nguyen Van Niem confessed that he and Vo Minh Cuong (born in 1989) committed property theft.
Through verification, Nguyen Van Niem is being prosecuted and banned from leaving his place of residence for the act of property theft in another locality; Vo Minh Cuong himself has a previous conviction for property theft.
Tan An Ward Police are continuing to consolidate the file and handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
