On September 12, according to information from the Dong Thap Provincial Police website, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Thap Provincial Police has just prosecuted and temporarily detained Chau Thi Mien (39 years old, residing in Quarter 2B, Cai Lay Ward, Dong Thap Province) to investigate the act of illegal drug trafficking.
Through the work of grasping the situation, the force discovered a group of subjects with suspicious signs, conducted monitoring and verification. On August 24, 2025, Cai Lay Ward Police inspected and caught Mien red-handed selling drugs to another subject at Nguyen Thi Ut's house (residing in Quarter 1B, Cai Lay Ward). At the scene, the force seized 2 zip bags containing drugs and some related tools.
To conduct the investigation, the ward police summoned 5 more related subjects. Through a quick test, 5/6 subjects tested positive for drugs. The subjects admitted to buying drugs from Chau Thi Mien for use.
At the police station, Mien confessed to buying drugs to divide into small amounts for use and resell them to addicts.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Thap Province Police is investigating and clarifying and handling the case according to the law.
