Promoting digital transformation to improve overall efficiency
To achieve the goal of serving people and businesses better and better, Vinh Long Social Insurance has synchronously deployed digital transformation solutions in management, payment and handling procedures on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.
According to Director of the Provincial Social Insurance Pham Minh Duong, digital transformation helps the industry fully and promptly implement social security policies, while shortening the time for processing documents, reducing administrative costs and improving transparency.
Recently, the provincial Social Insurance has expanded the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts; increased the use of VssID applications and connected data to shared systems. Thereby, beneficiaries can easily access information, reducing dependence on paper documents.
At the same time, the unit coordinated with the Provincial Police to authenticate and synchronize participants' data with the national population database, creating a platform to reduce documents and simplify administrative procedures.
By November 30, the whole province had authenticated and synchronized more than 3.11 million social insurance and health insurance participants, reaching a rate of 99.8%, creating a basis for effective implementation of online public services.

Along with that, the provincial Social Insurance has stepped up the implementation of electronic procedures, especially transactions with enterprises via IVAN software. More than 430,000 records were received electronically, accounting for over 76% of the total number of records, contributing to shortening processing time.
From practical results, many pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries are guided to switch to receiving through personal accounts, helping to save travel time and be proactive in daily activities.
Ms. Le Cam Thi (Long Chau ward) said that she used to receive a pension in cash at the post office, but now receiving it through the bank is convenient, when shopping, she only needs a card, when in need of cash can be withdrawn quickly at the ATM.
Applying ID cards to improve medical examination and treatment
In reality, many medical facilities in Vinh Long province show that the application of identification cards in health insurance examination and treatment helps patients be more proactive right from the reception stage, reduce waiting time and limit congestion in the registration area.
Coming to Vinh Long General Hospital for examination, Mr. Tran Minh Tri (Long Ho commune) said that just by scanning the card to get the order number, patients can follow the examination on the electronic board, there is no longer the scene of jostling or waiting for names to be called for a long time as before.
According to Mr. Tri, the current admission process is clear and quick, helping patients to take control of their time and feel more comfortable mentally when going to the doctor, especially for the elderly or having to return for check-ups many times a month.

Evaluating the effectiveness of digital transformation in health insurance examination and treatment, Director of Vinh Long Provincial Department of Health, Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hang, said that applying an identification card helps shorten the registration time, on average each trip only takes about 30 seconds.
According to Ms. Hang, the system of receiving identification cards or personal identification numbers helps medical facilities to more scientifically connect patients when the number of patients increases, while creating an orderly, civilized and modern medical examination and treatment environment.
"From the achieved results, the health sector of Vinh Long province continues to coordinate with the provincial Social Insurance to promote digital transformation, perfect the health insurance examination and treatment process, and increase people's satisfaction," Ms. Hang added.
