On the afternoon of June 24, in Ha Tien ward, the Border Guard Command of An Giang province (Vietnam) organized a conference to summarize the coordination work with the Police of 3 provinces Kam Pot, Takeo, Kandal (Kingdom of Cambodia).
Reports at the conference showed that, over the past time, the two sides have maintained effective coordination mechanisms according to signed agreement documents. Information exchange activities have been carried out regularly and promptly. Many plans and projects have been coordinated to be implemented, focusing on types of crimes such as: smuggling, illegal transportation of goods across borders, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit, drug crimes and other violations of the law.

In 2025, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command arrested and handled 533 cases, 2,435 subjects illegally entering and leaving the country. In which, it received 24 cases, 1,112 Vietnamese citizens were returned by Cambodian functional forces at border gates for illegal entry and stay.
Regularly organize periodic and unscheduled meetings and talks, maintain the effectiveness of the hotline mechanism, and coordinate in resolving incidents arising at the border in accordance with the spirit of respecting the sovereignty and laws of each country and bilateral agreements signed.
Through coordination programs, people on both sides of the border are disseminated regulations on entry and exit, crime prevention and control, border protection, border markers and maintaining security and order. Thanks to this, people's awareness of law compliance is increasingly improved, contributing to building a peaceful, stable and developed border area. Creating favorable conditions for businesses and economic units to cross border gates for business cooperation and people on both sides of the border to cross for examination, treatment, visit relatives, trade, and exchange of goods, contributing to socio-economic development.
The two sides are doing a good job of coordinating to promptly resolve incidents occurring on the border. Advising the governments of each country to agree on the construction and repair of works near the border line. Advising and exchanging to agree on repair and remediation plans for 14 damaged landmarks and markers that are at risk of landslides. At the same time, continue to coordinate management according to the current situation for border sections that have not been demarcated and marked.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and pointing out some difficulties and limitations in the coordination process, such as the situation of cross-border crime still containing complex developments, methods and tricks of operation are increasingly sophisticated. Material facilities and equipment serving coordination work in some places are still limited.
On that basis, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen information exchange, coordinate patrols, inspections, and effectively combat crimes. Improve the quality of forecasting and grasping the situation, maintain good exchanges, talks, and meetings between border protection forces of the two countries. At the same time, promote propaganda and legal education for people in border areas, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development...

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Pham Van Thang - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Commander of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command affirmed that the results achieved in coordination with the Police of Cambodian border provinces in the past time are a vivid proof of the spirit of solidarity and friendly cooperation between the law enforcement forces of the two countries.
