Every year, around the time of Lunar New Year, the number of people and vehicles on the road increases dramatically. This is the time when traffic safety violations are likely to occur, leading to the risk of accidents and serious traffic congestion.
In order to ensure smooth, safe and convenient traffic for people during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival of At Ty 2025, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan has directed the Provincial Police to deploy a peak plan for traffic patrol and control.
This activity will take place before, during and after Tet. The focus is on patrolling and controlling national highways through the province, complex traffic areas, road sections and intersections where traffic accidents often occur. Using data from journey monitoring devices to check and handle vehicles that violate the law.
"In particular, strictly handle acts that cause accidents and traffic jams such as violations of alcohol and drug concentrations, speeding, driving in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction, illegal stopping and parking, reckless overtaking...
In addition, the forces will deploy strong measures to prevent and strictly handle the situation of carrying more people than the prescribed number, gathering to race illegally, and disturbing public order," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan directed.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province assigned the Department of Transport to direct the organization of transportation and ensure traffic safety and order during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival season of At Ty 2025. Ensure transportation capacity, quality and safety for passenger and cargo transportation activities, especially passenger transportation services by road.
Implement traffic diversion and regulation during peak days before and after Tet holiday. Priority must be given to arranging forces to handle traffic incidents at key traffic routes, central areas, train stations, bus stations, and wharfs to avoid prolonged congestion.
Resolutely handle organizations and individuals that allow illegal buses, illegal bus stations, and illegal fare increases, especially during peak days of the Lunar New Year.
"The Department of Transport coordinates with sectors and localities in the province to renovate and upgrade traffic infrastructure, quickly fix potential traffic safety risks. Ensure traffic safety at construction sites, temporarily stop construction, and restore smooth road surfaces before Tet.
"Strengthen the management of waterway safety at ferry terminals and tourist attractions; resolutely suspend the operation of illegal terminals, vehicles that do not meet safety standards, and are not fully equipped with life-saving equipment," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan requested.
