Binh Dinh will strictly handle traffic violations, without exceptions, without forbidden areas, including for cadres, civil servants, and party members, to reduce accidents.

On March 26, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan issued a conclusion on the work of ensuring traffic order and safety (TS) in 2024, and at the same time set out key tasks for the remaining months of 2025.

With the strong direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the traffic accident situation in 2024 and early 2025 has had positive changes, decreasing sharply in all three criteria: Number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries. Compared to 2023, traffic accidents in the area decreased by 49 cases, the number of deaths decreased by 46 cases, and the number of injuries decreased by 39 people.

In response to the achieved results, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province praised 8 districts, towns, cities and 113 communes, wards and towns for their good work in ensuring traffic safety. He also acknowledged the efforts of 3 high schools and 7 transportation enterprises in strictly implementing traffic safety regulations.

However, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province also frankly criticized 3 districts and 42 communes, wards and towns with increased deaths due to traffic accidents. mentioned that 4 schools and 10 transportation enterprises have not seriously implemented traffic safety work.

To continue to reduce traffic accidents, the Provincial People's Committee set a target of "reducing the number of cases by 8%, the number of deaths by 5% and the number of injuries by 7% in 2025". To achieve this goal, the province requires departments, branches, sectors and localities to strengthen management and synchronously deploy drastic and effective solutions.

"Handling violations must be strict, without exceptions, without forbidden areas, including for cadres, civil servants, and party members. Localities, especially rural areas, need to step up propaganda and education on traffic laws, and handle the situation of students riding motorbikes in violation. In case the children of the staff violate, it will be included in the assessment of completing the year-end tasks," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan directed.

The Chairman of Binh Dinh Province also assigned the Provincial Police to direct the Traffic Police and local Police to strictly inspect and control violations of traffic safety order, especially acts at high risk of causing serious accidents.

Violations of cadres, civil servants, public employees, students will be closely monitored. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee requested strict implementation of Directive No. 18/CT-UBND on handling officers and soldiers in the armed forces who violate regulations on driving vehicles with alcohol concentration or without cooperation with functional forces.

In addition, the traffic surveillance camera system will be exploited to the maximum to support the handling of violations. With the merger of administrative boundaries, the authorities will have to strengthen control and ensure traffic safety in the context of no longer having district-level police.

Along with management work, Binh Dinh province will continue to review and overcome shortcomings in transport infrastructure. Accident "black spots" will be eliminated, and a system of signs and surveillance cameras will be installed synchronously.
