On January 10, the Military Command of Kien Giang province coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (Kien Giang Provincial General Hospital) to organize voluntary blood donation for officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces.
198 officers and soldiers from departments and affiliated units participated in the voluntary blood donation. This is a very meaningful work of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces, thereby promptly supplementing the blood reserve ready for emergency and treatment needs for patients in the province.
Sergeant Tong Gia Lac - Soldier of Battalion 207, Regiment 893 - shared: "I feel that voluntary blood donation is a meaningful activity, I can help people in difficult circumstances when they need blood. In the future, if there is a blood donation activity, I will continue to participate in blood donation."
Over the past years, the voluntary blood donation movement has been actively participated in and pioneered by officers and soldiers of the Military Command of Kien Giang province, with the hope that the donated blood will contribute to saving the lives of many patients, helping them overcome illness and rise up in life.
Lieutenant Phan Minh Du - Political Commissar of Company 1, Battalion 207, Regiment 893 - said: "This is the 4th time I have donated blood. For soldiers, the main task is to train and be ready to fight, but we also want to contribute a small part to help families and people in difficult circumstances to have the conditions to treat their illnesses."
After 2 blood donation sessions, 198 units of blood (350 ml/unit) were donated by officers and soldiers of agencies and units.
The voluntary blood donation movement has contributed to propagating the right awareness for officers and soldiers about donating blood and saving lives. In particular, this meaningful work beautifies the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the coming spring days.
