According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station, on the evening of September 5, 2025, the low pressure area in the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression. At 7:00 a.m. on September 6, the center of the low pressure was at about 17.7 degrees North latitude; 117.6 degrees East longitude, with the strongest wind level 7, gusting to level 9, moving in the West Northwest direction at 10-15 km/h and likely to strengthen into a storm.
By 4:00 p.m. on September 7, the low pressure had strengthened into storm No. 7 with winds of level 9-10, gusting to level 13, moving northwest. It is expected that on the afternoon of September 8, the storm will be in the south of Guangdong province (China), with the intensity dropping to level 7, gusting to level 9.
In response to the complicated developments of the storm, the City Civil Defense Command issued a telegram requesting localities to strengthen response. Thanh Mien Commune People's Committee urgently directs the Commune Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, schools, cooperatives, irrigation workshops, etc. to deploy plans, prepare forces and means, and ensure safety of life and property. Units are required to closely monitor the storm situation, river water levels, clear water flows, check water pumping systems, instruct people to protect their homes, produce and raise aquatic products.
In Gia Loc commune, implementing the city's telegram, the People's Committee of the commune requested agencies, units, and agricultural service cooperatives to proactively respond to storm No. 7, prepare human resources, materials, and means, and maintain rescue forces according to the "four on-site" motto. Gia Loc Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise coordinates to deploy drainage and prevent flooding; agricultural cooperative inspects and operates pumping and canals. The Commune Culture, Sports and Communications Center has increased forecast information so that people can proactively prevent it.
Thanh Mien, Gia Loc communes and many other localities in the West Hai Phong area require agencies, units, villages and cooperatives to seriously implement assigned tasks, take serious duty, and ensure the safety of state and people's lives and property during storm No. 7.
