Can Tho City People's Committee has issued a plan to strengthen the Party's leadership over social insurance and health insurance work in the period 2026 - 2030.
The core goal is to strive to achieve universal health insurance coverage by 2030, 100% of people have periodic health check-ups and 100% of students participate in health insurance right from the beginning of the school year.
Consumer demand stimulus
The issuance of the plan to organize the 2026 Focused Promotion Program aims to promote production and business and promote consumption in the last months of the year.
The program takes place until December 31, 2026, applying the maximum limit on the value of goods and services used for promotions and discounts up to 100%.
Businesses, supermarket systems, shopping centers and e-commerce platforms are encouraged to participate simultaneously.
Protecting consumer rights and tightening tax management
Last week, the City People's Committee also issued a plan to strengthen state management of consumer rights protection, with the requirement to promote inspection and control of the e-commerce environment, and prevent counterfeit goods and cross-border fraud.
Data-based online operations (IOC) deployment
The city has issued a plan related to transforming the direction and administration work into an electronic environment through the Intelligent Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC).
Phase 1 (until the second quarter of 2027) will operate 12 key operating scenarios, including: public investment disbursement, environmental monitoring, health, education, smart city and civil servant management.
Organizing Vietnam Culture Day for the period 2026 - 2030
According to the plan to organize Vietnam Culture Day (November 24) annually of Can Tho City, peak activities will take place in November, closely linked to the Great National Unity Festival (November 18) and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
Public cultural and sports facilities will exempt or reduce entrance fees on Vietnam Culture Day to promote community cultural enjoyment.
