Coast Guard overcomes sun and wind in training in the Southwest sea area

Naval Flotilla 42 is trusted and built by the Coast Guard Region 4 Command as a pilot unit for training.

In the early days of the year, when the dry season sun gradually became harsh in the Southwest sea, officers and soldiers of Naval Flotilla 42, Coast Guard Region 4 Command, entered a new training season, with the determination to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

From early morning, on the wharf, training grounds, specialized classrooms and ships ready to maneuver at the wharf, the training atmosphere was extremely urgent and disciplined. The contents of the team regulations, physical strength, martial arts, specialized training, and coast guard expertise were organized scientifically and tightly. Under the scorching sun, sweat soaking the back of the shirt, but in the eyes of each officer and soldier, there was still determination, spirit and firm belief.

This year, Naval Flotilla 42 is trusted and built by the Coast Guard Region 4 Command as a model unit for training in regulations, regular routines, discipline management and good physical training. The task of Naval Flotilla 42 also sets higher and more comprehensive new requirements. The unit must both organize training according to plan and maintain formations and units of ships performing patrol and control tasks, maintaining law enforcement at sea, especially the task of combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

In the context of dispersed troop numbers, many officers and soldiers regularly operate for long days in distant sea areas, Party committees and commanders at all levels throughout the Navy Command have proactively adjusted time plans reasonably, flexibly organized compensation and combination of training contents, ensuring "no one is outside the program". Thereby, directly contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of training and combat readiness of the unit.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vu Dinh Nga - Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Flotilla 42 - said: In the training process, the Naval Flotilla always links political education with each specific content and situation; taking the reality of tasks at sea as a vivid proof to foster bravery and responsibility for officers and soldiers. Focusing on building the spirit of solidarity, discipline, and determination, so that each soldier is not only solid in technique and tactics but also firm in position and ideology. With that foundation, in any circumstances, soldiers will successfully complete the assigned tasks.

On ships performing offshore missions, that training atmosphere becomes even more exciting. Along with training plans and combat deployment boards, officers and soldiers also take advantage of extra rest hours to review regulations, operating rules, management, use and preservation of weapons and technical equipment. Lessons learned right on deck, in the midst of sea waves have promptly rectified and overcome limitations, improved the level of command organization, coordination to ensure and the ability to handle situations.

Senior Lieutenant Professional Military Dang Huu Duc - Maritime Officer, Coast Guard Vessel 4039, Flotilla 422 - confided: "In the early days of training, the atmosphere in the unit was very lively and urgent. Although the weather conditions were not favorable, the brothers were enthusiastic and encouraged each other to try their best. Each training content of ours was meticulously and enthusiastically guided by commanders and officers. That atmosphere of solidarity and determination helped us become more confident, ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks well.

With the exciting atmosphere of the first training days of the year, from the wharf to the training ground, from the machine room to the command station, from the mainland to the vast ocean, each officer and soldier of Naval Flotilla 42 is sharing a will, a common determination to create a solid change in training quality, improve combat readiness, law enforcement of the unit, contributing to firmly protecting sovereignty, maintaining security, order, and safety of the Southwest sea and islands of the beloved Fatherland.
