On April 10, Can Tho City Police organized a conference to summarize the criminal investigation work in the first quarter of 2026; deploy the Law on Juvenile Justice and professional consultations on solutions to improve the rate of resolving information about crimes, criminal investigation, arresting wanted subjects, and reducing cases and cases temporarily suspended.
In the first quarter of 2026, the City Police Investigation Force proactively deployed synchronous professional measures, effectively implemented peak periods of attacking and suppressing crimes, ensuring security and order to serve important political events.
At the Conference, delegates focused on presentations, frankly assessing the achieved results, pointing out shortcomings, limitations and causes. Many opinions went deep into analyzing emerging issues such as high-tech crime becoming increasingly sophisticated, difficulties in collecting electronic evidence; some cases are still prolonged due to problems in asset appraisal and valuation.
On that basis, delegates proposed many practical solutions such as strengthening the application of science and technology in investigation; improving the effectiveness of coordination between forces; promoting social prevention work associated with legal propaganda at the grassroots level; focusing on reviewing, classifying, and definitively resolving temporarily suspended cases, not allowing them to be prolonged.
In order to recognize and commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in crime prevention and control in the past time, at the Conference, awards were organized by the Minister of Public Security and the Chairman of the City People's Committee to many typical units and individuals. This is timely encouragement, contributing to encouraging the spirit and creating motivation for the Investigation Police force to continue to strive and successfully complete the assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the Criminal Police Department of the City Police organized a signing ceremony for the 2026 emulation agreement in a solemn atmosphere, showing the high political determination of the entire force.
Speaking to direct at the Conference, Colonel Bui Duc An - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police requested that in the coming time, units continue to thoroughly grasp the policies of the Party, State, and Ministry of Public Security; proactively grasp the situation early and from afar, not to be passive or surprised.
At the same time, it is necessary to further improve the quality of receiving and handling denunciations and reports of crimes; strengthen professional and social prevention measures; focus on resolutely fighting against emerging crimes in the area.
