On September 10, Can Tho City Police said that according to the policy of perfecting the organization of the police apparatus in the direction of streamlining, effective and efficient operations, many important functions and tasks have been assigned to the commune-level police.
Notably, the task of protecting and examining the scene is now also under the authority of the commune-level police. This is considered an important step forward, both affirming the role of "close to the people, close to the people" of the grassroots police force and setting high requirements for the capacity and skills of officers directly performing tasks in the area.

In order to improve qualifications and promptly meet working requirements in the new situation, on the morning of September 10, Can Tho City Police organized an opening of a training course on security and crime scene investigation for the commune-level police force and forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.
The class took place over 5 days, with 4 key topics on theory and practice.
From September 10 to October 3, the City Police will organize 3 training courses for more than 400 officers and soldiers of the Commune Police and grassroots security forces to participate.

Colonel Bui Duc An - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police - said that opening a training course not only aims to supplement professional skills but also demonstrates the concern and proactiveness of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the City Police in building a truly strong Commune Police force capable of carrying out new tasks. This is also an important preparation step for the Commune-level Police to promote their core role in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, meeting practical requirements in the current period.
