This year's April 30 - May 1 holiday has been extended, favorable weather has caused a sudden increase in the number of people and vehicles flocking to coastal tourist areas such as Sam Son, Hai Tien, Hai Hoa, posing a high risk of accidents and traffic congestion.
To ensure traffic safety and order (ATGT), Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have proactively deployed synchronous plans, mobilizing maximum forces and means, especially the Traffic Police Department in coordination with the Commune-level Police to patrol, control, and set up checkpoints at hot spots.
According to statistics, the authorities have recorded 845 cases of traffic safety violations, temporarily detained 280 vehicles, revoked driving licenses and inspected 43 cases. The total amount of fines for the 4 days was up to more than 5.6 billion VND.
Of which, 294 cases of alcohol concentration violations were fined more than 1.3 billion VND; 45 cases of overloaded goods were fined nearly 150 million VND and 26 cases of box size violations were fined more than 118 million VND.
Thanks to serious and drastic implementation, the traffic safety and order situation in the area has been maintained stably. No long traffic jams occurred, city gates and tourist attractions were strictly controlled, ensuring safety and smoothness for people and tourists.
