On April 21, Kien Giang Provincial Police Detention Center held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Provincial People's Court on reducing the prison sentence serving period for the April 30, 2025 holiday for prisoners serving sentences at the Provincial Police Detention Center.
This reduced sentence Kien Giang Provincial Police Detention Center has 8 prisoners serving their prison sentences whose sentences have been reduced (including 2 prisoners with a reduction of 4 months; 3 prisoners with a reduction of 3 months and 3 prisoners with a reduction of their prison terms, who have been released immediately upon the Court's decision).
The prisoners proposed to reduce the prison sentence are prisoners with good academic achievements, reformed labor, ensured serving time, classified as good or better and meeting other conditions according to regulations.
Reducing the prison sentence sentence for prisoners is a humanitarian policy of our Party and State for prisoners who have had a good study and work process.
