According to information from Can Tho City Police, after implementing the 2-level local government model, the security and order situation in Vinh Phuoc Ward has recorded many positive changes. The ward police force has proactively followed closely the area, advising the Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward to synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and combat crimes and law violations, contributing to maintaining stable social order.
From July 1, 2025 to present, the ward police have discovered and handled 8 cases with 12 subjects violating social order (robbery, intentional injury, theft of property, fraud to appropriate property, rape of people under 16 years old). detected 5 cases with 17 subjects related to drugs; handled 1 case of violation of the law on economic management order and 1 case of environmental violation.
The police force has destroyed 5 gambling establishments, fined 5 cases with 28 subjects, the amount of over 64 million VND. Among the outstanding cases, on August 23, 2025, the ward police caught Thach P.R (born in 1994, residing in Thanh Thoi An commune) red-handed for fraud and appropriation of property in Tan Qui hamlet. The case was transferred to the Criminal Police Department for handling according to its authority.
In the fight against drug crimes, the ward police caught red-handed a case of "illegal possession of drugs" on August 4, 2025 in Bien Tren A hamlet, seizing 0.5434g of synthetic drugs, the case has been prosecuted according to regulations.
The ward police also inspected and discovered 75 cases of illegal drug use; punished 29 cases, warned 1 case, educated - committed 35 cases and prepared records to send 10 subjects to compulsory drug rehabilitation facilities.
In addition, the unit will implement a plan to build "drug-free hamlets and villages" in 2025 and the following years.
