On June 29, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that on June 28, Tram Tau Commune Police coordinated with Task Force 373 to organize coercion and bring 2 drug addicts to Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 1 of Lao Cai Provincial Police to comply with the compulsory rehabilitation decision.
Two cases subject to compulsory detoxification measures include T.A.V (born 1949) and M.A.C (born 1972), both residing in Tong Trong village, Tram Tau commune, Lao Cai province.
According to Lao Cai Provincial Police, the entire coercion process was implemented in accordance with the order and procedures according to the provisions of law, ensuring absolute safety for the task force, the person being coerced and the people in the area.
Drugs not only destroy the health and personality of addicts but are also the cause of many types of crimes and social evils, directly affecting the security and order situation at the grassroots level.
Over the past time, Tram Tau Commune Police have proactively reviewed and managed addicts; advised Party committees and authorities to deploy solutions to prevent and combat drugs in the area.
The unit also closely coordinates with functional forces in verifying, preparing dossiers and organizing to send addicts to compulsory detoxification in accordance with regulations.
The determination to send addicts to compulsory detoxification shows the determination of the police force in controlling drug evils, contributing to cleaning up the area and limiting the risk of crime.
In the coming time, Tram Tau Commune Police will continue to strengthen the management of addicts and illegal drug users; promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in drug prevention and control right from the grassroots level.
The police force also advises people not to use, store, buy, sell or transport illegal drugs; and at the same time actively manage, educate relatives and promptly denounce violations of the law on drugs.
