Rescue fishing boat with 15 crew members whose water was broken at sea

Binh Thuan - Upon receiving news that a fishing boat of 15 crew members had water damage, the Border Guard search and rescue boat set out to approach and rescue.

At noon on March 7, fishing boat BTh 97618 TS, with a capacity of 400 CV, fishing, including 15 workers, captained by Mr. Vo Thanh Chi (born in 1979, residing in Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province) had an accident while fishing.

The location of the fishing boat in distress was in the sea area about 11 nautical miles from Phu Quy Island. At that time, the fishing boat had water damage, causing water to overflow into the engine compartment, causing the boat to sink. The ship's captain signaled for rescue.

Upon receiving the information, the Border Guard Command of Binh Thuan province mobilized the BP Search and Rescue ship 11.19.01 from Cua Khau Border Guard Station of Phu Quy port to depart to carry out the search and rescue mission of fishing vessels and fishermen.

After more than 1 hour of departure, the BP.11.19.01 ship reached the fishing boat in distress and deployed measures to support the fishing boat. It is expected that after pumping water in the hold and temporarily fixing the problem, the fishing boat in distress will be towed to Phu Quy Island.
