More than 1,000 criminal cases clarified in 2025
On the morning of December 12, Da Nang City Police held a launching ceremony to carry out the peak of attacking and suppressing crimes, ensuring security and order (ANTT) to serve the 14th National Congress of the Party, electing 16th National Assembly deputies, People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 and political events and festivals at the beginning of the year in the city. The peak period will be implemented from December 15, 2025 to March 16, 2026.
The police force will mobilize all forces and means, simultaneously launch a strong campaign to suppress all types of crimes; absolutely protect security and safety.
According to Da Nang City Police, in 2025 (from December 15, 2024 to November 15, 2025), the political security situation in the city will continue to be maintained stably, without complicated incidents, without "hot spots", without being passive or surprised.
Social order crimes were controlled and reduced by 32.5% compared to the same period in 2024. The authorities have investigated and clarified 1,007/1,253 cases, handling 2,064 subjects, reaching a rate of 80.37%.
In the fields of economy, corruption, smuggling and environment, 115 cases with 233 defendants have been investigated; 196 cases have been administratively sanctioned, with a total amount of more than 12.4 billion VND.
In the environmental field alone, the authorities have prosecuted 4 cases with 15 defendants; administratively sanctioned 261 cases, and fined more than 14.3 billion VND.
For drug crimes, the City Police discovered and arrested 570 cases with 1,061 subjects; handled nearly 3,000 cases of illegal drug use; seized a large amount of heroin, marijuana, synthetic drugs, American grass and Methadone.
In 2025, traffic accidents in the city will decrease sharply in all three criteria compared to the same period in 2024. The authorities have handled more than 82,000 violations, paying the budget more than 134.5 billion VND.
Fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue continue to be focused on. The whole city had 111 fires, a decrease of 78 cases compared to the same period; human and property damage was limited to a low level.
Proactively prevent and suppress crimes
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai - Deputy Director of Da Nang City Police Department requested the entire city police force to focus on synchronously and drastically deploying measures to ensure security and order during the peak period. In particular, proactively grasp the situation early, from afar, from the grassroots; firmly protect national security, avoid being passive, surprised, and arising "hot spots" in security and order.
Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai emphasized the task of strongly attacking and suppressing all types of crimes, striving to reduce at least 7% of social order crimes, raising the rate of investigation and discovery of cases to 80% or more; focusing on fighting organized crimes, drug crimes, economic crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, environmental violations, and eliminating complex gathering places and gathering places.
Mr. Pham Duc An - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that in the coming time, the city will continue to implement many breakthrough solutions to accelerate economic development, promote all resources, promote investment attraction and promotion; build a digital government, smart cities, and modern administration.
Special attention should be paid to social security policies, especially the city's programs "3 no", "3 yes", "4 ass". In that context, the urgent requirement is to maintain political stability, ensure security, order, and social safety, and create a solid foundation to successfully organize important political events of the country and the city.
