On July 8, Rescue Team 116 found the body of D.V.N (born in 2009), a missing victim while swimming in the river in the Bang Lai culvert area (old Ngu Phuc commune).
Previously, on the afternoon of July 7, N and a group of friends went swimming in the river and were swept away by the water. Despite being called for help by friends, the child disappeared after only a few minutes. The authorities and relatives tried to search all night but to no avail. On July 8, the child's body was found and brought ashore to be handed over to the family for funeral arrangements.
The Bang Lai culvert area is a deep, fast-flowing water point, with warning signs of danger. In 2021, a drowning incident also occurred here, causing the death of a teenager.
Local authorities continue to advise people, especially students, to absolutely not bathe in rivers in areas with high potential risks, especially during the summer.
