On May 30, the interdisciplinary working group of Dien Bien province, including the Economic Security Department (Provincial Police) in coordination with the Market Management Department (Department of Industry and Trade), conducted a surprise inspection of the garment business establishment of Mr. D.C.N (Group 12, Muong Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City) and discovered that there were some T-shirts printed with images of the Vietnam map that were not complete.
Accordingly, this establishment is selling 14 red flag shirts with yellow stars printed on the map of Vietnam. However, the map image on the product did not fully represent the national territory when the two Hoang Sa archipelagos and Truong Sa were absent.
The working group has drawn up a record, seized all violating goods, and at the same time propagated and directly reminded the owner of the establishment. Request Mr. D.C.N to commit not to repeat the offense and not to sell products with content that is distorted about the territory and sovereignty of Vietnam.
Dien Bien Provincial Police recommends that business households, especially establishments selling souvenirs and fashion, need to raise political awareness and citizens' responsibility in selecting and controlling the origin and content of products before launching them on the market.
