The Dien Bien Department of Health said that the coordinating units will organize free screening and surgery for children with disabilities in difficult circumstances from June 2.

Accordingly, the free surgery program for children with disabilities in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien province in 2025 will be implemented by the Provincial Children's Support Fund in coordination with Center II (the unit directly supporting children with disabilities), the Department of Health and Dien Bien General Hospital.

Participants include: children who have been screened and prescribed surgery since February 2025; cases of children with disabilities who have not been screened and are in need of examination can take their children for examination.

The program will be implemented from June 2 to 6, at Dien Bien General Hospital (cases when coming for examination will be supported and guided by medical staff and Center II staff).

Accordingly, a team of experienced doctors and nurses and staff from Center II will directly examine, consult and perform the surgery. Participating cases will be cared for with dedication and thoughtfulness, completely free of charge.

This is a meaningful activity to bring opportunities for health recovery and community integration for children who are unfortunately born with birth defects or due to accidents.
