On the afternoon of May 10, the government of Champasak province (Laos) and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (Pleiku ward) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in planting 5,000ha of coffee and supporting community development.
Attending the signing ceremony were representatives of the Champasak provincial government, the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Da Nang City, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Hoang Anh Gia Lai enterprise.
According to Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc - Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai's Board of Directors, the enterprise will develop a 5,000ha coffee raw material area and build a processing plant in the Bolaven plateau, aiming to produce high-quality coffee for export to the world market.
In the long-term orientation, the enterprise will develop a large-scale raw material area, up to more than 20,000 hectares in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Currently, in the world, the enterprise with the largest coffee growing area is only about 14,000 hectares.
When developing this large-scale raw material area stably, Hoang Anh Gia Lai can rise to the world's leading position in owning coffee growing area.

Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Champasak province affirmed: "The provincial government will direct departments and branches to create favorable conditions and close cooperation with Hoang Anh Gia Lai in the field of high-tech agricultural investment. The province expects businesses to soon promote project implementation, creating motivation for development.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Que - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said: "Gia Lai and Champasak province have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in all socio-economic fields. Hoang Anh Gia Lai's investment in agriculture in the province will bring revenue to the budget and create jobs for local workers.
According to Mr. Que, implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development, Hoang Anh Gia Lai is identified as one of the six pioneering enterprises of the province, leading in the field of high-tech agriculture and deep processing of agricultural products.

Investment cooperation between businesses and the Champasak provincial government aims for sustainable development, promoting the economy, trade and culture of the locality.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, Hoang Anh Gia Lai is currently the second largest enterprise in the country in the field of agricultural production and processing, with vast land areas in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, focusing on fruit trees such as bananas, jackfruit, mangoes, durians and many other agricultural crops.
