Team K92, Team K93 deployed to search for martyrs' remains in Cambodia

An Giang - The Organizing Committee announced the decision to send officers and soldiers of Team K92 and Team K93 to the Kingdom of Cambodia to perform the task of searching for martyrs' remains.

On September 3, in Ha Tien ward, Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province organized a launching ceremony, assigning tasks to Team K92 and Team K93 to perform the task of searching for and repatriating remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed during the wars in Cambodia, phase XXVI, dry season 2026 - 2027.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the decision to send officers and soldiers of Team K92 and Team K93 to the Kingdom of Cambodia to perform their duties; reported on the results of preparation and assigned tasks to the two teams.

Before leaving for duty in Cambodia, from July 29 to August 28, 2026, Team K92 and Team K93 deployed the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains in An Giang province. Team K92 repatriated 72 martyrs' remains, and Team K93 repatriated 13 martyrs' remains.

Speaking to assign tasks, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc, Head of Steering Committee 515 of An Giang province, acknowledged and praised the results achieved by Team K92 and Team K93 in the past time; and emphasized that searching for, collecting, and repatriating martyrs' remains is a particularly important political task, with profound humanistic meaning, reflecting the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the nation.

From 2001 to now, officers and soldiers of Teams K92 and K93 have searched and collected 6,871 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 4,414 sets of remains are in Cambodia and 2,457 sets of remains are in the country. In the period XXV, the 2025-2026 dry season, the two teams searched and collected 170 sets of martyrs' remains.

Entering the XXVI phase, the 2026 - 2027 dry season, leaders of the Provincial Steering Committee 515 requested officers and soldiers of the two teams to continue to promote bravery, experience, solidarity, proactively overcome difficulties; strictly comply with military discipline, State laws and regulations of Cambodia; especially ensure absolute safety for people, vehicles, weapons, and equipment throughout the mission implementation process.

Along with that, Team K92 and Team K93 continue to closely coordinate with the government, functional forces and people of Cambodia; promote propaganda and mobilization to provide information about the location of martyrs' graves; do well in mass mobilization and military foreign affairs, thereby contributing to fostering solidarity and friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

According to the plan, Team K92 will perform tasks in Kam Pot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk and Koh Kong provinces; Team K93 will perform tasks in Takeo and Kampong Speu. The task in this dry season continues to be associated with "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, collection and identification of martyrs' remains", towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2027).

On behalf of officers and soldiers of the two teams, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hung, Team Leader of Team K92, spoke promising determination, affirming that officers and soldiers of Team K92 and Team K93 will uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, overcome difficulties, strictly abide by discipline, maintain the qualities and image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, and be determined to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

On this occasion, the 515 Steering Committee of Military Region 9, the 515 Steering Committee of An Giang province, the Provincial Military Command and agencies, units, businesses and individuals presented gifts and encouraged officers and soldiers of Team K92, Team K93 before leaving for duty.
